A new poll from Fair Investment has found that the majority of UK consumers prefer long term fixed rate mortgages during the difficult economic climate.
The research found that 37% of people would opt for a 25-year deal and a further 28 per cent would opt for a medium-term fixed mortgage.
A spokesman for Fair Investment commented "The fact that the majority of people would go for a long or medium-term fixed-rate mortgage is reflective of the country's nervousness regarding the current economy and the credit crunch."
