Money Extra believe that the problems with the property market and the UK economy in general lie at the feet of mortgage lenders.
The group say that despite many consumers blaming the Bank of Englands failure to get a grip on the economy and control inflation, it is in fact mortgage providers who should accept criticism for the stalling property market.
Robin Amlot from Money Extra commented, "Mortgage interest rates, in general, are cheaper now than they have been for more than a year - but it's all but impossible for many potential buyers to find a lender because of the size of deposit they're being asked to provide."
