Mortgage providers Nationwide are still the only major high street company to offer a massive 25 year fixed rate mortgage to their customers.
The mortgage is particularly popular, something that has been emphasised by the fact it has become a permanent fixture of the group's range, having been originally a limited offer.
The group say that the continued popularity of the fixed rate mortgage is down to a clause that allows people to leave the agreement after ten years without paying extra charges, giving them both security and flexibility.
