Moneyextra has stated that if you borrow against your home in order to fund improvements to your property, you can end up profiting greatly.
A spokesman for the site commented: "Remortgaging tends to be the cheapest way that most of us can borrow money and if you're going to be adding value to your property, it may well be the most sensible way of paying for home improvements."
